2005/2006 ACS INTERNATIONAL FINE ARTS COMPETITION
The local
newspaper, The Carlisle Sentinel, published the following article on April 25th,

Grace Baptist
students win fine arts awards
Students in grades 5-8 at the Christian School of Grace Baptist Church in
Carlisle recently participated in the Association of Christian Schools
International Fine Arts Competition in Lancaster.
Competing against 28 other Christian schools in the Mid-Atlantic Region, the
Grace Baptist Girls' Ensemble earned first place in the large ensemble division
and the Grace notes earned first place in the small ensemble division.
The Grace Baptist Choir received an "Excellent" rating. All of the musical
groups are under the direction of Mrs. Carol Garman.
The following students competed in individual musical competition: Piano solo,
Jenny Schiappa, "superior" rating, and Dani Clippinger, "good" rating; vocal
solo, Kate Bloom and Kyle Jones, "excellent" ratings; and instrumental solo,
Katy Bloom, and "excellent" rating.
Additionally four Grace Baptist students earned
first place honors in their visual art categories. They are: Katy Bloom,
black and white photography; William Hinthorn, computer graphics; Kyle Jones,
jewelry, and Dani Clippinger, fiber arts.
These students also received ribbons: color photography, Katy Bloom,
"excellent," and Danielle Clippinger, "good"; black and white photography,
Miriam Hinthorn, "superior"; drawing, Rebecca Leone, "excellent," and Izzy
Murphy, "good"; and sculpture, Nathaniel Leach, "Good."
