FACULTY & STAFF

Headmaster: Mr. Gene Drummond



Mr. Drummond serves as the school's headmaster, but he spends most of his day in the classroom.  His teaching duties include 6, 7, and 8 Grammar, 7 and 8 Literature, and 6 Vocabulary.  Mr. Drummond's students often find his classes to be the most challenging, but also the most enjoyable.

Mr. Drummond received a B.A. in Secondary Education from Bob Jones University and a Masters in Education from the University of South Alabama.  He is married with two children and is a member of Grace Baptist Church.


Kindergarten: Mrs. Pilar Parry

Mrs. Parry graduated from Pensacola Christian College with a degree in elementary education.  Her experience includes 3 years teaching at East Hill Christian School in Florida.    

Mr. and Mrs. Parry are members of Grace Baptist Church.  Mr. Tim Parry serves as a member of the School Board.  The Parry’s have two children who attend The Christian School of Grace Baptist Church.


First Grade: Mrs. Jan Springer

Mrs. Springer provides a great foundation to our first graders in reading, phonics, grammar, and math.  The students are challenged and encouraged to develop their minds for the glory of God each day.

Mrs. Springer has a B.A. in Elementary Education from Shippensburg University and has advanced training in Reading development.  Through the years she has provided many families with individual tutoring for students with reading difficulties.  She is married, with three children and is a member of Grace Baptist Church.


Second Grade: Mrs. Michelle Bollinger

Michelle Bollinger joined the faculty of The Christian School of Grace Baptist Church in the fall of 2005.  Mrs. Bollinger completed her undergraduate work in elementary and early childhood education at Shippensburg University in December of 2003.  She followed that degree with an additional semester of graduate work in education at Shippensburg as well.  She has used her degree to provide several local districts with long-term substitute work.

Mrs. Bollinger attended and graduated from The Christian School in 1995.  Michelle and her husband, Shaun, reside in Mechanicsburg and are members of Grace Baptist Church.

  
Third Grade: Mrs. Becky Davis

Our Third Grade teacher joined the faculty in 1998 after having been a substitute teacher in many local schools.  Each day in her classroom she demonstrates a great earnestness for learning and for serving Christ.

Mrs. Davis completed both her bachelor and master degrees in education from Shippensburg University.  She is married and has three children.  She is a member of the Carlisle Reformed Presbyterian Church.


Fourth Grade: Mrs. Rebecca Beardmore

Mrs. Beardmore graduated from Houghton College with a BA in Inclusive Childhood Education.  She grew up in a Christian home attending Bible Baptist Church and graduating from Bible Baptist Christian School.  Mrs. Beardmore views teaching at the Christian School as an opportunity to serve families and the church by giving students a quality, Christian education.  Becca and her husband, Paul, are members of Grace Baptist Church.


Fifth GradeMr. Greg Rudder

Mr. Rudder is a Shippensburg graduate with a BS in Secondary Education and also a graduate of Anderson University with a BA in Physical Education and Christian Ministries.  Mr. Rudder has been employed as a substitute teacher in the local school districts.  Prior to that he was involved in Christian camping ministries.  Greg says, “I believe learning is a lifelong skill to be continually developed.  Through respect and relationships built both in and out of the classroom, I expect to create an environment in which every student is challenged and encouraged to grow.”  In addition to 5th Grade, Mr. Rudder teaches 7th & 8th History. 

Greg and his wife Lisa have 4 children and are member of Carlisle Reformed Presbyterian Church.


MIDDLE SCHOOL FACULTY

Mrs. Dinah Schaszberger

Mrs. Schaszberger began her teaching duties at Grace in 1996.  As a part time teacher, she teaches 6th grade reading and serves as a Kindergarten through grade 8 tutor.  Her background in teaching reading and her love of dramatic arts help strengthen students in these critical areas.

Mrs. Schaszberger received a bachelor degree from Cedarville College and a master's degree in Education from Bowling Green University.  She is married with two children and is a member of  Faith Chapel in Carlisle.


SPECIALTY STAFF

Technology Coordinator: Mr. Mike Endres

Mr. Endres received his Bachelor degree from Messiah College and  joined our faculty in 1999 after completing his Master's degree from  Shippensburg University in Special Education.  After teaching 2nd grade for six years, he is now primarily the Computer Lab teacher for grades 1-8.  He also teaches Physical Education for grades 5-8, 5th grade Reading, and 7th & 8th grade Bible as well as directing the Boy's Ensemble.

He is married to our former second grade teacher and has three children.  He and his wife Melanie are members of Grace Baptist Church.



Spanish: Mrs. Sara Leone


Mrs. Leone attended The Christian School of Grace Baptist Church from Kindergarten through eighth grade.  In 1987 she received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Grove City College.  She has taught various grade levels in Christian schools in Illinois and Pennsylvania, including a year of beginning Spanish here at Grace Baptist Christian School (1999-2000).  From 2000 to 2005 she home schooled her children in rural Georgia.  She currently teaches seventh and eighth grade Spanish.

 

In 2007 Banner of Truth Trust published Mrs. Leone's book on the responsibilities of pastors' wives entitled, Her Husband's Crown - A Wife's Ministry and a Minister's Wife.  She and her husband Scott have three children and are members of Grace Baptist Church.  Her hobbies include reading, crocheting, piano playing, and family history.



Math / Science: Mr. Gareth Schuth

Mr. Schuth is a 2005 Messiah College graduate with a BS in Music Education.  After teaching music in public school and tutoring students in Math, he discovered his love of teaching Math.  This led to adding Math and Science credentials to his PA Teaching Certificate. He is excited to share his knowledge and love these subjects with his students.  “Helping transform young minds to the likeness of Christ takes time, effort and love.”

Mr. Shuth teaches 6th-8th grade Math and Science, 6th grade Bible and Geography, and 7th and 8th grade AlgebraGareth and his wife, Annie, are members of Grace Baptist Church.


Music / 7th & 8th Grade Math
: Mrs. Carol Garman

Mrs. Garman is a 1979 Geneva College graduate with a degree in Elementary Education and a concentration in music.  Prior to her marriage, Mrs. Garman taught 2nd grade in The Christian School from 1979-80, 2nd and 3rd grade from 1980-81, and 2nd grade from 1981-1984.  She is a past member of the Genevans Concert Choir and Madrigals, and she traveled with the Continental Singers for one summer singing in Holland, Germany and Poland.  She has served in the Christian School as a music substitute for several years as well as accompanist and music coach.

Mrs. Garman returned to The Christian School as music teacher in 2002 providing music instruction to grades 1st through 8th and she also teaches 7th and 8th grade math.  Besides this she directs two middle school choirs, Girls’ Ensemble, and Grace Notes.  Her duties include planning and directing the music portion of school programs, and preparing students for annual music competitions.  Mrs. Garman is married to her husband Phil.  They have three children and are members of Grace Baptist Church.


 Art: Mrs. Joie Fitzpatrick

Mrs. Fitzpatrick teaches art classes for grades three through six.   She also serves as the school's volunteer Librarian.  After studying at Covenant College, she developed her love of art and is now sharing her knowledge with our students.

Mrs. Fitzpatrick is married to Charles Fitzpatrick.  Fitz, as he is affectionately called, taught in our school for many years and is now the pastor of the Reibers Reformed Baptist Church where they are members.  The Fitzpatricks have five children and three grandchildren.


Secretary: Mrs. Karyl Drummond

Mrs. Drummond serves as the school secretary and assists the Headmaster in many of his administrative duties.  She also provides first aid to the students. 

Mrs. Drummond attended Bob Jones University and received her Secretarial Certificate from Norwich Business School in Connecticut.   She is the wife of our Headmaster and they have two children.  She is a member of Grace Baptist Church.

                                                                                                                                           
General information about faculty & Administration

The Christian School of Grace Baptist Church is governed by a Board of men elected from the membership of Grace Baptist Church of Carlisle and other churches holding like doctrinal beliefs.  The Board of Directors establishes the policies of the school, and appoints the school's chief administrator and faculty.

The Headmaster and faculty are selected first upon testimony of  Christian experience and life, and then upon academic preparation and experience.  The teachers must be well-qualified and represent a good balance in training, experience, excellence of  Christian character and conviction, and love for children.  All faculty members must subscribe to the statement of faith as set forth in the Constitution of the Grace Baptist Church of Carlisle, Pennsylvania.  All faculty members are subject to the rules, regulations, and provisions contained in the Constitution and By-Laws of the Christian School of Grace Baptist Church.
