Alicia Wolfe, Grand Champion of the 2016 Spelling Bee

On Friday, February 19, grades 5-8 competed in the school annual Spelling Bee. It took eleven rounds, but we finally reached two finalists. Jacob Silvious, seventh grade, and Alicia Wolfe, fifth grade. In the final round a student must correct a misspelled word and spell and new word correctly to be crowned the Spelling Bee school winner.

The students breezed through necessarily, eclipse, biology, etching, absentee, alligator, numerical, injurious, and cemetery. Jacob stumble on the word rhubarb. Alicia correctly spelled it, and then she spelled croquet to earn the school championship.

In grades 5 and 6, Alicia Wolfe, took first place. Fifth grader Delaney Beardmore finished in second place while 6th grader Olivia Myers took 3rd place.

In grades 7 and 8, Jacob took first place, 8th grader Julia Myers took 2nd place while 8th grader Kate Manti took third place.

Congratulations to all of the place winners, and to the school champion, Alicia Wolfe.
